Basic use of TaskuTalkkari is device-based and does not require an account. A free user account is needed for the AI features and for joining a shared home, and the optional PilviTalkkari adds cloud storage on top of that. You can delete your data and your account in the ways described below.
Deleting inside the app
Without an account (local data)
If you use the App without an account, all data exists only on your own device. Delete it like this:
- Settings → Delete all data. This clears the App's entire database and the files (images, PDFs) stored in it on your device.
- Alternatively, you can remove the App from your device — this deletes everything it has stored.
Deleting your account
If you have created an account — free or with PilviTalkkari — you can delete it and all data stored in the cloud directly from the App:
- Settings → Account → Delete account. Confirm the deletion with your password.
- In the browser version: log in at app.taskutalkkari.fi and open Account → Delete account (direct link: app.taskutalkkari.fi/account).
- Deletion is immediate and permanent: it deletes your account, all data synced to the cloud and stored files, after which the device's local data is also cleared and you are logged out. The exception is files archived in the Vault, which are deleted within 30 days — see below.
- If you have an active subscription or own shared homes with other members, cancel the subscription and transfer or remove the members first — the App will guide you through this.
What is deleted
- Account: email address and name (if you signed in with Google).
- Synced data: homes, devices, maintenance and tasks, events, documents, receipts, energy data, the long-term plan (PTS), contacts and spare parts.
- Files: images and PDF documents uploaded to the cloud.
- Files archived in the Vault: also deleted, but through a separate procedure within 30 days — see the exception below.
- Device data: the App's local database and files.
Deletion is immediate and permanent — there is no separate recovery period (grace period) on the server; the account and data are deleted at once. One exception: files archived in the Vault are stored under a lock that prevents their immediate deletion, so they are deleted through a separate procedure within 30 days of account deletion. They are not used for any other purpose during that time. Technical backups that data may have been saved to are overwritten in the normal backup cycle and are not used to restore a deleted account. No data is retained after deletion for any other purpose.
Deletion request by email
If you cannot access the App (for example, if your device is lost), you can request deletion of your account and your data by email. Send a message to info@taskutalkkari.fi and state your account's email address. The request is processed without undue delay and within a month at the latest.
